Recently we updated you with the Qualcomm chipset's heating issues seems to be solved at the next upcoming chipset from Qualcomm Snapdragon 815, now it looks like that Qualcomm has even done the same with the Snapdragon 615 which is the current top chipset for a Mid-ranged device. Snapdragon 615 featuring Yureka Yu, Galaxy A7 both had heating issues, and hence it is clear the faulty is Snapdragon 615 chipset, now it looks that the Snapdragon 620 which is the successor of the Snapdragon 615, is having the issues to be solved. We have got hold on some more leaked documents from Qualcomm which states that Snapdragon 620 seems to have the issues solved.
Unlike the previous tests they didn't run the Asphalt 8, they indeed ran Modern Combat 5, which is a FPS based game, the game was well played on both the handsets. But it's kinda surprising that Engineers at Qualcomm ran a much hardware intensive game on a mid ranged chipset while a less intensive game on a Flagship Chipset. Both the Chipsets were made to play for 20 mins, then the phone was made to rest taking a note of Temperature after the tests too.
In the above results Snapdragon 615 reached about 46 Degree Celsius while the Snapdragon 620 reached a max of 42 Degree Celcius which is very high compared to Snapdragon 815 as we saw in the tests. Snapdragon 620 cools constantly, while the Snapdragon 615 cools constantly for first 15 degree then it gets a bit low in cooling down. The Snapdragon 615 after 5 mins of still run it reached 28 / 27 degree Celsius and for some 3 odd minutes the temperature was getting a bit unstable, we may say there are some problems in the Snapdragon 615 chipsets which seem to be solved in its successor Snapdragon 620.
The demo units on which the chipsets where placed had the following specs
